Nozawa Onsen Ski Passes: Purchase Options, Tips, and Pricing
There are three options to purchase ski lift passes for the Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort:
1. Purchase from your hotel. This is the best way. Purchase a blank Nozawa Onsen ski pass from your hotel for 300 yen (cash only, non refundable), scan the QR code, choose the amount of days you want to ski, pay online. You can add more days after current days have been used. 1-3 day ticket is consecutive, 4 day ticket onwards are non consecutive, however they do need to be used within a certain period (for example, the 4 day ticket needs to be used within 6 days of activation). This gives more flexibility for days off, or bad weather days.
2. Purchasing Nozawa Onsen lift passes online in advance: Please note, you will need to go to the the ticket counter at the ski resort with QR code to pick up your ticket. You need to line up, this could be a long wait on the weekends.
3. Purchasing lift tickets from the ski resort when you arrive to Nozawa Onsen. This is the easiest and how most people do it on day trips to Nozawa Onsen.

Once you have your ticket(s) there is no requirement to go back to the ticket counter in the future. You can simply add extra ski days to your ticket by purchasing them online.
Nozawa Onsen ski lift ticket prices 2025/26

There is also a Spring season pass available from March 1st onwards. This pass is ¥53,000 for adults, ¥32,000 for kids and ¥42,500 for seniors.
Purchase ski lift tickets online in advance (credit card only). Please note that sales usually start in December each year.
Nozawa Onsen early bird discounted ski pass and season pass
Nozawa Onsen offer a discounted season pass if purchased between October 1-29. Sales have ended for 2025/2026, however do not worry too much. Early bird season tickets were only available by mail order, and tickets had to be sent to an address in Japan.
The discount was ¥12,000 for an adult, ¥8,000 for a child and ¥10,000 for a senior (prices as of 2024). Please see the Nozawa Onsen ski resort website for more information.
Nagano multi ski resort pass
There is a great option to purchase a multi-mountain ski pass called the "NAGANO 6 - Powder Dream Season Pass". This pass includes:
1. Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort
2. Shiga Kogen Mountain Resort
3. Togakushi Ski Resort
4. Ryuoo Ski Park
5. Madarao Kogen Ski Resort
6. Tangram Madarao Resort
- Enjoy unlimited skiing at 6 ski resorts in northern Nagano with one pass
- Includes season pass benefits at each resort.
Super early bird price: ¥135,000 for an adult, or ¥105,000 for a child (October 1-31)
Early bird price: ¥145,000 for an adult, or ¥110,000 for a child (November 1-30)
Regular price: ¥155,000 for an adult, or ¥115,000 for a child (December 1- January 31)
This ticket is available from the Nozawa Onsen ski resort ticket office (from December 1st), or by mail order (from October 1st).
There is a direct ski bus between Nozawa Onsen and Madarao for day trips (which also stops at Togari ski resort). The other ski resorts really require a car for a day trip.
